I just remember that this festival  is coming so soon after I  posted an image of German beer in my facebook profile. One of my friends commented that Oktoberfest is  coming soon! Indeed,  she is right!

I almost forgot that the world’s largest fair starts in late September and ends until  the last weekend of  October.  Oh well, time truly pass-by so quickly! Around two weeks more to go and the Oktoberfest  will be  starting. The party is about to begin! Are you ready?

I watched before in a German television how this festival is being prepared. I mean the preparation of the  festival  and how are the Festzelt or festival tent are build.   The show also featured how many  millions of liters or beers are consumed, how many traditional food were prepared and served such as Hendl (chicken), Schweinebraten (roast pork), Schweinshaxe (grilled ham hock), Steckerlfisch (grilled fish on a stick), Würstl (sausages) along with Brezeln (pretzel), Knödel (potato or bread dumplings), etcetera and the many things to be done before the celebration.

I have been to Oktoberfest many times. I visited it for the 5th time last year. It always fascinates me seeing how many visitors, local and tourists are visiting the Theresienwiese to party and celebrate. This is the area where the festival is held every year. Locals simply call it Wiesn, which also means field or meadow. In short, Theresienwiese is known in English as meadow or field of Therese.

Oktoberfest is a long part of Bavarian culture and one of the famous events in Germany. Imagine a festival visited by over 6 million of people from all corners of the world? It is truly fantastic!

There are so many things to experience when visiting this festival. The local delicacies, the carnival rides, tasting beer from many local breweries, visiting many beer tents and more. I Know for sure, visiting Oktoberfest is truly an experience.

This year’s celebration will commence from September 21 to October 6. I hope to see you there!
