A Tour in Universal Studios Hollywood, California

I did not expected that I can visit this entertainment place when I was in the United States of America four years ago. It was a wonderful experience for me seeing the venue of the prominent filmmakers. Out tour to the Universal Studios in Hollywood, California last June 7, 2008 was truly worth it. I truly enjoyed the tour we had in this place.

The setting of the movie Shark at the Universal Studios in Hollywood, California. I was there!

Universal was founded by Carl Laemmle, a German-Jewish immigrant from Laupheim who settled in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where he managed a clothing store. On a buying trip in 1905 to Chicago, he was struck by the popularity of nickelodeons. One story has Laemmle watching a box office for hours, counting patrons and calculating the day's take. Within weeks of his Chicago trip, Laemmle gave up dry goods to buy the first of several nickelodeons. more here

Studio Tour in Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles

It was a nice tour we had in Universal Studios. It is actually called a Studio Tour or The Backlot Tour, an attraction at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park in the USA.

Flash flood attraction on The Studio Tour

the tram where we rode during the tour last June 2008.

The Tour is the signature attraction at the park, and goes into a working movie studio. Guests sit in a multi-car tram for the duration of the ride. The Tour lasts about 45 minutes and is led by a live tour guide who can be seen throughout the tram on video screens. It travels through the Front Lot, Backlot and various attractions, passing sets and props from movies along the way.

From 1915 when visitors sat on bleachers for 25 cents, to the 1964 introduction of pink and white GlamorTrams, to the current technological sophistication, the behind-the-scenes view of a working movie studio has been a large attraction. During the early years of the tram tour (1964–1965) all of the attractions at Universal were reached via the tram. The tour originally departed from the front lot comissary. In 1965, the upper lot studio tour center opened.

In 1991, the tram boarding was moved to the lower lot following the construction of the Starway escalator system. In 1996, boarding moved back to the upper lot to make room for Jurassic Park: The Ride.

As the movie studio continues to evolve, the tour evolves alongside it. In late 1989, CD players finally gave the tour guides a chance to rest their voices. In 2000, the CD players were replaced by DVD players and LCD screens, allowing the tour guides to show scenes from movies filmed at the locations the tram passes.

Since 2006, the studio tours bypassed the Collapsing Bridge, due to aging and wearing. However, the bridge has since undergone renovations, and was added back to the tour schedules in August 2008. Since July 2010, the Collapsing Bridge is now used as a representation of the Skull Island city for the new King Kong: 360 3-D attraction. wikipedia.

Visit to Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles, California

It is almost three years now since I visited Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. Time truly passes-by so fast. Special thanks to my sister and cousin for touring me here. I truly had a great time. Visiting this place was one of the most memorable travels I had. Just sharing some of the images I took during our visit last June 2008.

I can't imagine how many people are coming everyday inside the Universal Studios just to have fun and simply enjoy!

EARLY YEARS OF UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

Universal was founded by Carl Laemmle, a German-Jewish immigrant from Laupheim who settled in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where he managed a clothing store. On a buying trip in 1905 to Chicago, he was struck by the popularity of nickelodeons. One story has Laemmle watching a box office for hours, counting patrons and calculating the day's take. Within weeks of his Chicago trip, Laemmle gave up dry goods to buy the first of several nickelodeons. For Laemmle and other such entrepreneurs, the creation in 1908 of the Edison-backed Motion Picture Trust meant that exhibitors were expected to pay fees for Trust-produced films they showed. Based on Edison's patent for the electric motor used in cameras and projectors, along with other patents, the Trust collected fees on all aspects of movie production and exhibition, and attempted to enforce a monopoly on distribution. It was believed that the productions were meant to be used for another company but the firm turned Universal down. more here

Tour at the Universal Studios Hollywood, California

It was more than two years now since I visited Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, USA. It was one of the great times in my life and I am very thankful that I had the chance to visit and see this place.

Thanks to my sister, cousin and family for that wonderful moments being with them. Here are some of the images I took as we toured Universal Studios Hollywood last June 7, 2008.

Universal Studios Hollywood is a movie studio and theme park in the unincorporated Universal City community of Los Angeles County, California, United States. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood movie studios still in use. Its official marketing headline is "The Entertainment Capital of LA", though during the summer it is often advertised as "The Coolest Place in LA." It was initially created to offer tours of the real Universal Studios soundstages and sets. It is the first of many fully-fledged Universal Studios Theme Parks located across the world. Hollywood Universal Studios in Los Angeles, California

Dream came true! It happened as we visited Hollywood Universal Studios in Los Angeles, California. It was a great experience visiting the place of the rich and famous especially the so-called Hollywood stars. Here is one of the pictures that my sister took of me during our visit in this place last June 2008.

I would also like to share that during my two months vacation in the United States, I gained more pounds. I forgot to take weight loss products to get rid of those excess weight. Gaining extra weight was the result of our frequent dining-out in Las Vegas plus eating a lot of in fast food restaurants in this city. I guess I have to try taking weight loss supplements this time. You know what's the best in the market? I mean the one which doesn't give any side effects? Happy weekend once again!

Los Angeles is the largest city in the state of California and the second largest in the United States. Additionally, the Los Angeles metropolitan area is home to nearly 12.9 million residents. Los Angeles is the seat of Los Angeles County, the most populated and one of the most diverse counties[4] in the United States. Its inhabitants are known as "Angelenos" .

Los Angeles was founded September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve as El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles del Río de Porciúncula (The Village of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angels of the river of Porziuncola). It became a part of Mexico in 1821, following its independence from Spain. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican-American War, Los Angeles and California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States; Mexico retained the territory of Baja California. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood.

Los Angeles is one of the world's centers of business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, technology, and education. It is home to renowned institutions covering a broad range of professional and cultural fields, and is one of the most substantial economic engines within the United States. The importance of the entertainment business to the city has led many celebrities to call Los Angeles and its surrounding suburbs home. source wikipedia
