Cheap Package Holidays to the Volcanic Canary Islands

The Canary Islands offer everything that you could wish for from a great summer holiday with the family. Sun, sand, sea and stunning scenery combine to make for a perfect getaway, but many people are unaware of the Canaries’ volcanic origins and the magical landscape that awaits.

Cheap package holidays make exploring these other-worldly landscapes perfectly accessible to adventurous holidaymakers.

Each of the Canary Islands is naturally spectacular, but what makes each one individually special and distinct?

Tenerife

The island of Tenerife is dominated by the magnificent Mount Tiede, which can be scaled either on foot with a guide or by taking a cable car to the top. The Mount Tiede National Park is a stunning wonder ripe for exploration, with a ‘lunar landscape’ caused by massive volcanic explosions, and the views from the summit are breathtaking.

Candalaria, Tenerife.

Lanzarote

Lanzarote also boasts a magical volcanic landscape, and is home to the world’s longest volcanic tunnel, the Atlantida. This natural wonder can be explored on foot at certain points, in stunning show caves.

Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria has been recognised as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, and boasts a very unusual natural environment that has been described as being its own mini-continent. Lush forests with exotic flora and fauna sit alongside vast sand dunes and deep volcanic craters, on a landscape unlike any other.

Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura’s red mountains are a stunning sight to behold, and you’ll find arid areas with giant sand hills and areas of lush vegetation where the water runs down the mountainside. For peace and tranquillity, you’ll also find the island of Lobos, an other-worldly nature reserve where you’ll find plants and wildlife that can’t be found anywhere else on Earth.

If you love hiking, exploring and surrounding yourself with stunning scenery, then you’ll love the Canary Islands. Airtours holidays has some fantastic deals for those looking for that special holiday destination for 2012.

Is Las Vegas family friendly?

When you think of Las Vegas two things might come immediately to mind: the city’s nickname of “Sin City” and the slogan, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” The city is known for its wild reputation and when mom and dad are planning a family vacation, Vegas rarely makes the short list.

Sure, Las Vegas is filled with fun for grown-ups – there’s plenty of glitz, gambling, and adult-orientated entertainment. But did you know that it is also quite family friendly? There’s plenty to do with the kids – from hanging out at the pool to catching first-rate theatrical productions, to amazing sights – Vegas has it all.

If you want to have that perfect Vegas vacation with the kids, you just need to know some of Sin City’s best-kept secrets.

Where to Stay

As you plan your family vacation, it’s important to choose the right hotel, not just for your budget but also for its policies. There are actually plenty of hotels that just don’t market to families and that don’t want kids on the premises. Here are five of the most family-friendly hotels in the city:

Circus Circus – Equipped with its own theme park and nonstop circus shows this may very well be the #1 choice for families.
Caesars Palace – With a 4.5-acre Garden of the Gods and an awesome pool complex, this hotel has it all. Oh, and kids under 17 usually stay free.
Stratosphere – Your teens will love it. Enough said!
New York New York – Similar to Paris Las Vegas, this city-themed hotel and casino is just like staying in the Big Apple.
Four Seasons – Though it’s on the pricier side, it is extremely kid-friendly and pampers the whole family.

Swimming in Sin City

If you think being at the pool isn’t a top activity in Las Vegas, you’re wrong! Vegas has some of the best hotel and resort pool complexes in the U.S. and many of them are great for the kids. Here are five of the best pools in town:

MGM Grand – The 7-acre pool complex has 5 pools, 3 whirlpools, waterfalls, tube rentals, and rides.
The Monte Carlo – Smaller than most hotel pool complexes, this is still one to see. Private and lovely with kid-sized wave pools, lagoons, and beach chairs.
Mandalay Bay – With 11 acres to cover, this pool complex is like no other – a real sand beach, three pools, and seasonal concerts to boot.
The Mirage – One large pool interconnected with lagoons, waterfalls, and bridges makes this a secret garden of family fun.
The Luxor – Located at the bottom of the Luxor Pyramid, this complex offers four pools and whirlpools and plenty of fun.

Hoover Dam

Other Family Fun

While you probably can’t take the kiddies to the casinos, there’s still fun to be had! Here are five great family-friendly ideas for your entertainment:

Hoover Dam – This is a great side trip if you want to escape The Strip for a day. Everyone needs to see this!
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area – This is great for those nature lovers. With a 13-mile scenic drive and plenty of picnic spots, the kids will love it.
Valley of Fire State Park – See the famous Seven Sisters and ancient petroglyphs (rock carvings) in the canyon.
Blue Man Group – This show is fun for all ages and appeals to families with diverse interests.
Cirque de Soleil – This performance troupe has several shows going on in Vegas – mom, dad, and kids will all love it.

Top Places To Visit in Italy

I had the pleasure to travel to the different places in Italy since 2004. This is one of the beautiful countries I visited in Europe. It is home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world. It is also acknowledged as the birthplace of Western culture. "Bella Italia" as it is called is also home to famous luxury cars, trendy fashions, delicious cuisines, beautiful coastal areas and diverse culture, Italy is truly a must-to-see when visiting Europe. No wonder I always enjoy all the Italy tours I had in the past.

Here some of the the top places I visited and plan to visit in the future.

Venice- considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. It is known for its canals, its arts and history, architecture, the famous Venice mask carnival is also worth to experience, the Venice International Film festival, are only some of the reasons why tourists from all over the world flock into this city.

No wonder I did visited this city thrice already and I always love it! Venice is one of the most interesting and lovely places I visited in the world.

I had a gondola ride with friends exploring the canals in Venice during my third visit to this city last July 2011.

Rome- known as the "Eternal City", it is the capital and the largest city of Italy. A 3-day visit in this city is not enough to see everything. At least, I had the chance to be there last summer 2010. I was fascinated by the various historical and architectural ruins I witnessed in this city.

Being classified as a global city, there are simply a lot of things to do and to explore in this city. Its historic center is included in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Don't miss to visit the area once you are there.

the Spanish Steps in Rome during our tour last August 2010.

Cinque Terre — This is one of the highlights of my travel to Italy last year. The five tiny and historic coastal towns of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso located in the Italian region of Liguria are also very beautiful. They are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Don't miss to take a cruise along these islands to have a great view of the coastal scenery of the towns. I loved that cruise we had there last time.

Florence-known as Firenze in Italian, this is the capital of Tuscany region. It is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance famous for its art and architecture which made an influence not only in Europe but also throughout the world . I wish to visit this city this year when I will be taking part of a Tuscany trip hopefully in September or October.

There are still many interesting destinations in Italy. Milan, Pisa, Turin, Naples, Verona, Capri, Amalfi Coast, Lake Garda, Lake Como, Bologna are only some of the many interesting ones.

Unique Honeymoon Destinations

Spending your honeymoon is something you would want to be remembered forever, something very exciting, something magical and something very special. Whether you want to spend a cruise, a honeymoon at the beach, discover a new and interesting city, there are a lot of unique honeymoon destinations in the different corners of this world. Be sure to plan everything ahead to avoid stress. You might also have a chance to get cheaper honeymoon deals and packages.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Some honeymooners might find it not interesting to spend their honeymoon in a beach or a cruise. They might prefer the excitement of a big city. This is especially true if both want to visit a city that they dream for a long time. Las Vegas is a unique honeymoon destination not only because it is the the Entertainment Capital of the World but also other things it offers. You experience vibrant nightlife, various concerts and shows, sightseeing tours, great shopping and experience lots of different restaurants and cafes in this fabulous city. The most interesting part might be encountering people of various cultures and origins.

Cruising in Danube River in Europe

This is such a unique honeymoon vacation. Cruising in Danube River in Europe and seeing various cities and landscapes in the different countries of this continent will be a very exciting, fascinating and memorable trip. You can start your cruise in Regensburg or Passau in Germany going to Linz, Melk and Vienna in Austria, Bratislava in Slovakia, Budapest in Hungary until Bucharest in Romania.

Paris, France

Being one of the most romantic cities in the world, spending a honeymoon in Paris is truly an unforgettable experience. A romantic walk in Champs Elysees, a cruise in Seine river, a dinner on top of Eiffel Tower restaurant are only some of the wonderful things you can experience in Paris. This so-called "City of Life" is truly one of the perfect honeymoon destinations.

Island Honeymoon in Sicily

A romantic island honeymoon is no doubt a popular choice of some honeymooners. Sicily is quite an attractive island to visit in Italy. You can spend your days lazing on one of its beautiful beaches like the San Vito lo Capo, Marina di Ragusa or Vendicari, while sipping cool margarita by the pool or alongside crystal clear lagoon waters. Some relaxing moments while watching the sunset on the horizon. If you want a bit adventure you can also do some diving or trekking in Sicily.

Ibiza Holidays

Eivissa, Ibiza's official name in Catalan is the third largest of the Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea in Spain. It is one of the famous party islands of this country and a popular tourist destination not only for party goers but also for holiday spenders of all kinds. It is very popular for its nightlife especially in its island's capital, the Ibiza town and and other parts like Saint Antony. I would love to surely experience one of the most interesting Ibiza holidays in the future.

There are a lot of things to do and to experience in this beautiful island. A large part of the island is included in the list of World Heritage Sites. Interesting sites to see include the old part of Ibiza Town, the Passeig de ses Fonts in San Antonio, Es Vedra, the mystical island rock off Ibiza's west coast and a must to visit is the Cova de Can Marçà in Puerto de San Miguel, the biggest natural caves in Ibiza. It is nice to spend time and relax in one of its gorgeous beaches like the Bassa Beach and Cala salada at north of San Antony de Portmany.

The island is very accessible by plane from most of the major European cities like London, Brussels, Barcelona, Rome, Amsterdam, Nuremberg, Berlin and so many more. There are also travel agencies and travel sites online who are offering cheap holiday packages to Ibiza.

For sure, a holiday to Ibiza island will always be a memorable and exciting one. I might see you there!
