Love My Travel Gadget

It's almost three years now since my vacation in the United States. I could still remember when my sister and her hubby drove me to the airport during my return trip to Europe. I asked my sister to give me her ipod so that I won't get bored when I am travelling alone. It was quite a long trip for me from Mc Carran International Airport to Munich since I also have an 8 hours stop- over in Atlanta, Georgia. I love that travel gadget and I hope in my next visit I can already have the latest apple ipod shuffle and a new lens for my camera. I find this ipod a cool travel gadget especially if you are travelling alone.

Here is one of the images I took during my two months vacation in the United States. I stayed most of the time in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is not really a good photo. Hopefully in my next visit I can already take better photos with my DSLR camera. I believed I am going back there this year. Crossing my fingers and in God's will! Cheers!

Las Vegas At Night! I miss it!

What do you expect when visiting the so-called Sin City? I believed most of you only think of mega-casinos in Las Vegas but more on that it has a lot to offer to its guest and visitors. As you know Las Vegas is the largest city of Nevada state in the US. If you feel like seeing different places in the world, Las Vegas is the perfect place to go. Because of its themed casinos, you seems like having a trip to some places of the world that evoke romance, mystery and far-away and exotic destinations.

Las Vegas is best seen during the night when you see all those glittering colorful neon lights around the city especially in Las Vegas Strip. You can't believed that this desert will turned-out to be the "Entertainment Capital of the World"....Only in Vegas, as what the others have been telling.

During my two months vacation in Las Vegas last 2008, I am always on the strip, walking around, sightseeing, window shopping, dining, etcetera..It was so far one of the best holiday I had. Here are of the snapshots I had from Vegas

the Montgolier balloon in front of Paris Hotel.

the Bellagio and its famous Bellagio Lake where the fantastic Dancing water show takes place. Don't miss watching it when visiting Vegas.

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, Nevada

You can see the Eiffel Tower of Paris hotel and its Montgolfier balloon on the left side of my image here. On the right side, you can see a part of Hollywood Planet Las Vegas. It was previously known as The Aladdin. It has an area of 100,000 sq ft (9,300 m2) with 2,600 rooms.

This casino resort is located almost opposite to Bellagio Hotel. It is located in the unincorporated locale of Paradise, Nevada, United States.

I used to go gallivanting in this hotel with my sister during my 2008 visit in Las Vegas.

Planet Hollywood is owned by Caesars Entertainment Corp. In April 2010, Total Rewards replaced the "A-List" Player rewards card at Planet Hollywood.

Fremont Street Experience, Las Vegas

You want to see free live bands and performances for free? You might also want to go dancing on the street with the beat of disco music...Go to Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is truly an amazing and memorable experience for me.

Don't forget to bring with you your camera. It is like taking pictures in Paris or Rome..what else can I say?? more in my next posts because the images below will explain it all.

Freemont Street is one street that is mainly enclosed under a large dome-like structure that is called Viva Vision.
what you looking for? It was truly fun visiting Fremont Street.

The Cleopatra Barge in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas

I did not really hang-out in Cleopatra Barge in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. I used to pass this area when I go inside Caesars Palace. Some people said that it is cheesy place to enjoy, have fun, dance, drink, or simply watching others. Some people simply love this place!

The first thing you notice is the bow of the ship as you walk by it inside the casino. Then you realize that this place is actually a bar on water inside a casino. They have a DJ and a band playing music here. Music from the 80's or even five decades are also being played here.

Cleopatra Barge had also some facelift a few years ago and this classic lounge is newer, hotter and hipper. You can dance the night away, laugh and yes, people will be watching you.

Sad to say that I never spend a night listening to their band in Cleopatra Barge. What I only have was this image that I took when I passed-by. Sorry, it is not nicely taken.

the Cleopatra Barge in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. I was there last 2008.

A club venue that displays Cleopatra in a bosom-baring golden glory, as she is on the ship's bow. Photo opportunity here. Nice Egyptian style atmosphere. No cover. Servers are attentive and quite conversationalists. Music is club-like and sounds loud in such a small club. It can be heard down the hall. Club patrons can go dancing on her barge as it floats on water. The barge's oars move. Entry to the barge is by a short bridge which connects to the barge's dancefloor. It's like walking the plank like Wendy (that character from "Peter Pan") without pirates urging me on. And so, dancing on the barge presents a very up-close proximity with the rest of the patrons on the dancefloor. A cramped dancefloor. It's seems everyone wants to be on the barge. It's fun, an awesome experience. It's a-rockin' to and fro as the barge moves to everyone's dance rhythms. A scary thought: someone may topple overboard. Someone who may be a little light-headed from cocktail drink may lose balance or may be prone to 'seasickness' even though the barge is not on real big waves. That's when the fun is funny serious. "Man overboard!" ""No nay ne'er!" Let's just scamper for "Land-ho!" Cleopatra's barge is a thrill.

Goodbye Vegas

I was browsing awhile ago some images of my two-months vacation in Las Vegas. It was truly an impressive experience. It was a long holiday I had in this fabulous city. Sometimes, it is hard to say goodbye to places like this but on the other side, someone will also welcome me heartily which is quite comforting. I just forgot to look for Rocky Patel cigars in Vegas before I left. I should give it as present to a friend. Here is one of the photos I took during my last day in this city. This was taken inside McCarran International airport. Goodbye Vegas! I am missing you!

Great Sphinx of Giza in Luxor Las Vegas, Nevada

Luxor Las Vegas is a hotel and casino located in Las Vegas Strip, Paradise, Nevada. It is named after the city of Luxor in Egypt. It is said to be the second largest hotel in Las Vegas, next to MGM Grand and the third largest in the world.

Are you familiar with the Great Sphinx of Giza? It is commonly called as Sphinx, a mythical creature which resembles lion's body and a human head. In Egypt, it is located on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza.

You can also find a Sphinx statue in front of Luxor hotel in Las Vegas.
Below are some images I took during my visit last 2008 in Las Vegas

Designed by hotel architect Veldon Simpson and interior designer Charles Silverman, the Luxor has received recognition as being among the most recognizable hotels on the strip because of its unique design. The main portion of the hotel is a 365-foot (111 m)-high, 30-story pyramid encased in 11 acres of dark bronze glass. The guest rooms are situated on the outer walls of the pyramid and are reached by riding in "inclinators" that travel along the inner surface of the pyramid at a 39-degree angle. The hotel also features a 29 million cubic feet (820,000 m³) atrium, which was the largest open atrium in the world when it was built in 1993. The hotel is marked by a 140-foot (43 m)-high obelisk and a 110-foot (34 m)-tall re-creation of the Great Sphinx of Giza.

The light of the Luxor

The tip of the pyramid contains a fixed-position spotlight that points directly upward and is claimed to be the brightest beam in the world at over 42.3 billion candle power. The light is created by 39 Xenon lamps which use computer designed curved mirrors to collect the light and focus it into one intense beam. According to the Luxor website, “engineers say that an astronaut could read a newspaper by Luxor’s Sky Beam from ten miles into space” and “on a clear night, the Sky Beam is visible up to 250 miles away to an airplane at cruising altitude. more here.

Mountains in Nevada

I am not sure if I call these mountains or hills in Nevada. These images were taken while we were driving to see the famous Hoover Dam in Nevada. I never imagine that Las Vegas is a desert but I guess it is one of the most improved desert in the world.

This is located near Hoover Dam Bypass, the new bridge that was just opened sometime in October 2010. These images were taken during our visit last May 2008.

Seafood City in Vegas

This is one of the best place I had visited in Las Vegas, Nevada. I felt like in the Philippines as we visited Seafood City Supermarket. I guess you know why? Before, I will further explain, I would like to ask first what is the strongestÊ bestÊ suppressant in the market. Any idea? You can find most and even all of the Asian products in this supermarket especially from the Philippines. They have Jollibee, Chowking and other Philippine food chains and restaurants in here. I truly felt like in the Philippines as we went in Seafood City. I love it there especially the food. That is also the reason why I ask you about the best suppressant. You will need it when you will be eating too much here.

Las Vegas Strip, Nevada

These are not really good snapshots but I would only like to share how Las Vegas Strip look like for you to have some ideas about it. Beside, I am not really a professional photographer..lol! I know Las Vegas is a dream of many to travel and I believed I am very lucky to visit it.

You can see in Las Vegas Strip many of the world's largest hotel, casino and resort properties in the world. It is said that out of the world's 25 largest hotels by room, nineteen are on the Strip. Truly amazing!

I can also say that once you visit Las Vegas, you wil have a feeling that you had also visited other cities in the world. Taking for example Caesars Palace Hotel which is patterned in Rome, Italy, you will also feel that you are in Rome once you are there. The Venetian Hotel which is patterned from Venice, Italy. They also have a manmade lake where you can ride a Gondola and feeling like in Venice. The cityscape of Las Vegas Strip is truly amusing and exciting.

I hope to visit this city again in the future. Here are some images taken during my two months vacation in Las Vegas last 2008.

The modernization of hotels, casinos, restaurants, and residential high-rises on the Strip has established the city as one of the most popular destinations for tourists

That yellow lighted round building is the Colosseum in Caesars Palace Hotel. Famous entertainers like Celine Dion, Elton John, Beth Midley are performing here.

The Las Vegas Strip is an approximately 4.2-mile (6.8 km) stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South in Clark County, Nevada. The Strip lies in the unincorporated areas of Paradise and Winchester. Most of "the Strip" has been designated an All-American Road.

Flamingo Las Vegas By Night

Visiting Las Vegas can be a memorable experience. I remember the first night I arrived in Vegas. After my sister and her hubby picked me up at Mc Carran International Airport, we passed by at Las Vegas Strip. I was amazed by the colorful neon and outdoor lights in the Strip. Look at Flamingo Hotel in my image here! Isn't it interesting to see that neon signage at the front of the hotel?

The Flamingo Las Vegas is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment Corp.. It is the oldest resort and hotel on the Strip still in operation today.

Did you see me striking a pose in this photo? I hope so! I miss Vegas! I wish to visit it again in the future.

The Stratosphere Tower Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Stratosphere is the tallest structure in Las Vegas and also the fifth tallest structure in the United States. Commonly called as Stratosphere Las Vegas, is a tower, hotel and casino located in Las Vegas Strip, Paradise, Nevada.

You can find a revolving restaurant on the top of the tower called "Top of the World". It has also the highest thrill ride in the world, the Big Shot as it is called.

I guess, its is quite scary working on top of this tower. What do you think guys?

I took this image during my 2008 vacation in the United States.

Chowking in Seafood City, Las Vegas

What is good when visiting Las Vegas? I remember a friend telling me that Las Vegas is a little Philippines because you can find a lot of Filipinos there and there is also a Seafood City Supermarket where you can shop goods and products from the Philippines. Don't forget to mention some food chains and restaurants like the Red Ribbon, Chowking, Goldilocks, Grill City and a lot more. Don't ask me if they are also selling whey protein powder in this supermarket. I visited Seafood City Supermarket in Las Vegas twice and what I truly like there are the fresh fishes and of course the seafood. I photographed Chowking which is located in the same building during my Vegas vacation last 2008. I miss Vegas!

Driving in Vegas Highway

I did not really drive during my vacation in Las Vegas. I am only a passenger. I believed driving in Las Vegas is not too bad. I was amazed because their highways are wider than in Germany. We sometimes passed the highway especially when my sister goes to her workplace. She worked in a Nursing home before. I believed she is working now in a hospital. They offer medical assistance program and all sorts of medical treatments. Nursing jobs can be very interesting but I guess not for me.

Here is an image I took one day as we passed Las Vegas Highway. You can see the Stratosphere tower on the left side of the picture here.

Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

One of the famous free shows in Las Vegas is The Sirens of TI. It is a free nightly show provided by the Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The show focuses around a group of sensual and tempting Sirens engaging with a band of renegade pirates. The Sirens of TI show replaced the previous "Battle of Buccaneer Bay' show that was geared towards a younger audience.

Below is an image taken in front of TI hotel where this show usually takes place.
I am just happily waving my hand in front of TI Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

THe Huge Palm Tree in Vegas

I did not expect that Las Vegas is a desert.I thought it is just a regular place where you can see a lot of forest around but it is not. That is probably the reason why my friend who lives in Las Vegas mentioned that it is very hot during summer season.

Featured:
You can find alli reviews at Sybervision. Feel free to browse their site.

I was caught by a very hot summer season during my two months vacation in Las Vegas last 2008. Despite of that, I am still very happy that I was able to experience this lively city. It is also good to know that you can already find plants and trees around the place like the huge and tall palm tree I have in the image here.

Don't you know that Las Vegas is the most populous city in Nevada? It is also the 28th most populous city in the whole of United States during the 2009 census.

My Hat in Vegas

Hello folks! I am back now after a 5-day trip from Frankfurt. It's been awhile since I did not give you some updates here. The one I had written in my other blogs are scheduled posts and you might wonder why they were posted. I am just sharing an image here wearing a hat in Las Vegas. I am not so sure if it is one of the Kangol Hats that my brother-in-law had bought in one of the hotels in Vegas. This image was taken in front of Treasure Island when I also met a friend in this city. I will give you more updates once I will feel better. I am quite having a running nose and cough right now.

Happy weekend in advance!

I Love Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada

Ah, the very lively city of Las Vegas, Nevada! All I have now are photographs and memories from this entertainment capital of the world. It was truly a very interesting and memorable experience visiting this city. I also love the Fremont Street Experience. It is a famous pedestrial mall in downtown Las Vegas. I had been here four times during my vacation in Vegas last 2008.

This is where you can see the biggest LED screen in the world. You can also find here a lot of attractions like free shows, live bands, gamings and a lot more. Fremont Street Experience, also known as FSE is the most famous tourist attraction in downtown Las Vegas.

Here are some of the images I took during my vacation last 2008.

You see that statue up there? that is the famous "Glitter Gulch", one of the attractions in Fremont Street Experience.

the whole ceiling is the biggest LED screen in the world.

Last Glimpse of the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas

This is one of the last pictures I took inside Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Luxor, I am not talking about Luxor in Egypt here but about Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, is also the last hotel I visited before I flew back to Europe. I felt like visiting Luxor in Egypt every time I go inside this hotel. Take a look at it below!
photo I took during my vacation in Las Vegas last 2008

The Luxor is located on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip, opposite the McCarran International Airport. The resort is flanked by the Mandalay Bay to the south and by the Excalibur to the north; all three are connected by free express and local trams. All three properties were built by Circus Circus Enterprises, which later became Mandalay Resort Group.

When it opened on October 15, 1993, the pyramid was the tallest building on the strip and took 2 years to build and a total of 968 workers; it cost $375 million to build. A theater and two additional hotel towers totaling 2,000 rooms were added in 1998 for $675 million. In June 2004, the Mandalay Resort Group was purchased by MGM Mirage, adding this hotel to its vast array of properties on the "Strip". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxor_Las_Vegas

Having Fun in Fremont Street, Las Vegas

My cousin from Las Vegas keeps on asking me the past months when am I going back to Las Vegas. I can't visit Vegas this year because next month another Europe adventure is coming. Fremont Street is the second famous street in Las Vegas next to Las Vegas Strip. Wow a lot of Las Vegas words in here! There is always fun and enjoyment in this street. In fact, everyday! I also saw a lot of sexy women here. I am wondering if they are taking apidexin or other diet pills to maintain their slim body. I even have a picture of one of the performers in this street. That was cool! She was expecting a tip after I pose with her. I guess I gave $5.00 only for that pose. Here I am in Fremont Street. That was truly an enjoyable moment of my life!
