Playing Golf in Las Vegas

How I wish I can play golf in Las Vegas but I guess I can't still afford that game. I know that taking golf classes and buying personalized golf balls and equipments are quite expensive. I just want to know where we can play golf in Las Vegas. I know someone who teaches golf courses in Vegas. He is also the former colleague of my cousin in a band group where she used to sing before. They played in various hotels in Las Vegas.

It is said that Las Vegas has some of the finest championship courses in the world. The Shadow Creek, The Wynn Golf Club, Bali Hai, Badlands and more are among the best ones. if I win the lottery, I will surely take golf classes. The question is when?

Have a nice day everyone!

Is Las Vegas family friendly?

When you think of Las Vegas two things might come immediately to mind: the city’s nickname of “Sin City” and the slogan, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” The city is known for its wild reputation and when mom and dad are planning a family vacation, Vegas rarely makes the short list.

Sure, Las Vegas is filled with fun for grown-ups – there’s plenty of glitz, gambling, and adult-orientated entertainment. But did you know that it is also quite family friendly? There’s plenty to do with the kids – from hanging out at the pool to catching first-rate theatrical productions, to amazing sights – Vegas has it all.

If you want to have that perfect Vegas vacation with the kids, you just need to know some of Sin City’s best-kept secrets.

Where to Stay

As you plan your family vacation, it’s important to choose the right hotel, not just for your budget but also for its policies. There are actually plenty of hotels that just don’t market to families and that don’t want kids on the premises. Here are five of the most family-friendly hotels in the city:

Circus Circus – Equipped with its own theme park and nonstop circus shows this may very well be the #1 choice for families.
Caesars Palace – With a 4.5-acre Garden of the Gods and an awesome pool complex, this hotel has it all. Oh, and kids under 17 usually stay free.
Stratosphere – Your teens will love it. Enough said!
New York New York – Similar to Paris Las Vegas, this city-themed hotel and casino is just like staying in the Big Apple.
Four Seasons – Though it’s on the pricier side, it is extremely kid-friendly and pampers the whole family.

Swimming in Sin City

If you think being at the pool isn’t a top activity in Las Vegas, you’re wrong! Vegas has some of the best hotel and resort pool complexes in the U.S. and many of them are great for the kids. Here are five of the best pools in town:

MGM Grand – The 7-acre pool complex has 5 pools, 3 whirlpools, waterfalls, tube rentals, and rides.
The Monte Carlo – Smaller than most hotel pool complexes, this is still one to see. Private and lovely with kid-sized wave pools, lagoons, and beach chairs.
Mandalay Bay – With 11 acres to cover, this pool complex is like no other – a real sand beach, three pools, and seasonal concerts to boot.
The Mirage – One large pool interconnected with lagoons, waterfalls, and bridges makes this a secret garden of family fun.
The Luxor – Located at the bottom of the Luxor Pyramid, this complex offers four pools and whirlpools and plenty of fun.

Hoover Dam

Other Family Fun

While you probably can’t take the kiddies to the casinos, there’s still fun to be had! Here are five great family-friendly ideas for your entertainment:

Hoover Dam – This is a great side trip if you want to escape The Strip for a day. Everyone needs to see this!
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area – This is great for those nature lovers. With a 13-mile scenic drive and plenty of picnic spots, the kids will love it.
Valley of Fire State Park – See the famous Seven Sisters and ancient petroglyphs (rock carvings) in the canyon.
Blue Man Group – This show is fun for all ages and appeals to families with diverse interests.
Cirque de Soleil – This performance troupe has several shows going on in Vegas – mom, dad, and kids will all love it.

Gallivanting Around Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas, Nevada

It was truly a pleasure gallivanting in this famous Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas, Nevada. This shopping mall is considered to be one of the biggest enclosed malls in the world. Do you have any idea why this mall is named like that. I guess, it is because there is a fashion show that takes place here every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sad to say, that I did not witness any of those shows. Hopefully in my next visit soon this year.

For those ladies out there who love shopping, this is a perfect place for you. It has over 250 stores and several high end restaurants. I am happy with the souvenirs I bought from this mall.

The Fashion Show Mall with the cloud in the center. "The Cloud," at The Strip entrance is about 128 ft (39 m) above the sidewalk and is 480 ft (150 m) long. During the day, the structure provides shade for the entrance and at night it serves as a movie screen. I was there last 2008.

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas By Night

This is one of the luxury hotels I visited when I was in Las Vegas, Nevada last 2008. Planet Hollywood Las Vegas was previously known as The Aladdin. It is a casino resort owned by Caesars Entertainment Corp. It has a modern architecture themed from Hollywood. I went inside the lobby of this hotel for a lot of times for sightseeing and window shopping.

Treasure Island Las Vegas

I am back here to share some updates. It seems that I was busy with some things since the past days. I am currently out of the country. I am planning to go for a trip today to Avila, Spain but decided not to go. There are some assignments that need to be done before the fun will start here in Madrid.

Anyway, I m sharing this image of Treasure Island Hotel and casino in Las Vegas Strip, Nevada, USA. It is commonly knonw as TI for short. It has 2,664 rooms and 220 suites, quite a big hotel. It is connected by tram to The Mirage as well as pedestrian bridge to the Fashion Show Mall shopping center.

Driving On Vegas Street

Could you imagine a desert that turned-out to be the "World's Entertainment Capital". Yes Las Vegas is a desert but it is fully developed now. You can find all sorts of gaming and entertainment in this city. It is a perfect destination for those who want to enjoy and have fun.

I remember we were driving on Las Vegas streets and it was really good. The roads are wide and you can see palm trees along it. It is good to use zero gravity windscreens when you are driving there with your bikes or motorcycles. I also loved watching the snow-capped mountains when driving around.

I have an international driver's license that time but I never really drive when I was there. It was my sister or my brother-in-law who was actually driving. The next I visit there, I wish to go a bit farther to those snow-capped mountains. Hopefully in summer this year.

Wedding in Las Vegas

I should be attending the wedding ceremony of my sister last July 2007 in Las Vegas. Since I was not granted a visa to visit United States, I was not able to attend it. The representative who interviewed me in the U.S. embassy in Munich told me that they cannot grant me a visa because I am jobless and I might not be able to support my stay in Las Vegas. Despite the letter of invitation sent to me by my brother in law and the promise that they will handle and support all the expenses for my stay in the U.S., I was still not granted a visa. This is the advantage of being a third class citizen like what they say. Due to that, I was not able to give the personalized wedding gifts for my sister and her hubby for their wedding. I also don't want to ship it that time because I am afraid that it will get broken in transit.

It is almost five years now since my sister's wedding. I am happy that I was able to visit her for two months last 2008. After becoming a first class citizen when I got my German citizenship last December 2007, I was able to finally enter the United States last 2008 without any hassle at all. I hope to visit U.S. again this year to see my sisters and yes, to attend another wedding.

The Obelisk Inside Luxor Las Vegas

Fabulous Las Vegas! There are a lot of things to experience in this famous city of Nevada in the United States. One of the things you can do is hotel-hopping. With the different themes and architecture of the hotels in Las Vegas, you will surely feel that you also visit other countries.

Taking for example a visit to Luxor Las Vegas. This pyramid-shaped hotel is named after the city of Luxor in Egypt. It is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is considered to be the third largest hotel in the world and the second largest in Las Vegas after MGM Grand Las Vegas.

The photo you see below is the lobby interior of Luxor. You can see an obelisk inside located at the middle part of the hotel's lobby.

I had a great time during my two months holiday in Las Vegas almost four years ago. Time passed-by so fast nowadays. I feel like I was only there last year.

The Colosseum in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada

This is one of my favorite hang-outs in Las Vegas during my vacation almost three years ago. I can't imagine that it is almost 3 years now since my visit in the United States. Caesars Palace is one of my fave hotels to hanging-out. The love walking at The Forum here. I also had the chance to watch the Red Piano Concert of Elton John. It was a very memorable and wonderful two-months vacation I had in Las Vegas last 2008.

the Colosseum is just located near the casino inside Caesars Palace. It is the venue of shows, entertainments and concerts of famous entertainers like Bette Midler, Celine Dion, Elton John and many more.

there are always a lot of people inside CP. I was there last 2008. I love it!

Stratosphere, Las Vegas, Nevada

The first tower hotel that I have seen is Stratosphere Las Vegas. It is considered to be the tallest tower in Las Vegas and the 5th-tallest structure, in the United States. It is said to have a height of 1,149 ft (350 m). Sad to say, I was not able to go-up on top of it. Maybe in my next visit.

We just happened to pass-by Stratosphere and this is one of the snapshots I took. I hope to make a better picture in my next visit.

Vegas Experiences

There are some unforgettable experiences that I can still remember from my vacation in Las Vegas last 2008. The first one was after our visit in Fremont Street wherein my bro-in-laws car broke down due to oil leak. That time the car broke down near MC Donald. Since it was dawn time already, only the drive-thru in mc donald was opened. Since we can no longer drive the car we walked to the drive-thru to buy some burgers. I was already very hungry that time. Sad to say, the mc donald crew did not sell us anything because she said we don't have a car. It was frustrating. Since then, I seldom go to mc donald anymore.

There was also a time wherein the car's battery was empty already. Since it was still in the warranty period, my bro-in-law returned it to Walmart, Las Vegas. I went looked inside for nissan titan custom floor mats but it seemed that they don't have it.

Shopping and sightseeing in those mega-luxurious hotels in Las Vegas were some of the most interesting experiences I had. I wish to go back again in Vegas in the future. Wish me luck!

The Ghost Bike Inside Treasure Island, Las Vegas

Treasure Island Hotel, commonly know as TI is a luxury hotel in Paradise, Las Vegas, Nevada. I had the chance to go inside of this hotel. One of the things that caught my attention was the ghost bike inside the hotel premises. I guess this is located inside the casino lobby. I was thinking how this looks like when some hitch bike racks are installed on it. I forgot to take a picture of the face of this ghost bike. I saw one in flicker but don't want to stole it.

This was taken during my vacation in Las Vegas last 2008. I am still hoping to visit this city again in the future.

Moving in Vegas

The image you see below was taken in a subdivision somewhere in North Las Vegas, Nevada. This is where my sister and her hubby live before. I can still remember the pool in their backyard where we used to swim during hot summer time in Vegas. Now my sister and her hubby already moved to another house. From what she told me last year, they brought with them all their plantation shutter. His husband was the one who bought it and he have the right to bring it with them. It was also some very nice and good shutters.

Moving in Las Vegas is not really that bad. You can hire movers if you want and there are a lot of them. If you want to save money, you can probably ask help from your friends. I wish, I will visit again Las Vegas in the future. I had a great time in Vegas last 2008.

The Atrium at The Mirage Las Vegas

This is one of the attractions in this luxury hotel. The Atrium at the front entrance of the Mirage Las Vegas is one of my favorite part in this hotel. I was amazed how this so-called Tropical Rainforest is being maintained. No wonder four full time gardeners are assigned to maintain this beautiful part of the Mirage.

The dome inside is 100-foot high and houses palm trees above cascading waterfalls. Trees, orchids and most of all one of my favorite flowers named bromeliads are also displayed in this atrium. It seems like a paradise when you are inside in this part of Mirage.

palm trees inside the Atrium..sorry folks not a good photo here..this is only to give you some ideas how the dome looks like. I took these images during my 2008 visit in Las Vegas.

The beautiful bromeliads (family of Pineapple or ananas) in the Atrium in Mirage Las Vegas. Over a hundred of different kinds of plants are found in Atrium. There are more than three hundred fresh orchids and a thousand bromeliads are are also inside this beautiful place.

I Miss Ballys in Vegas

What a day! It was truly a fantastic Friday especially when I heard a great news from a good friend. I am so happy for them. When my friends are happy, I am also very happy for them. The details of this news will be posted in my other site as soon as I can.

For now, I can only say that I miss Vegas especially Ballys, a luxury hotel in this city. I am trying to remember about Swarovski Crystal beads somewhere in Vegas. I can't exactly remember now where is the Swarovski store that I found here during my vacation last 2008. Anyway, Ballys hotel is quite a special place for me. This is where my cousin performed before in a band. I love watching her while singing because she has truly a great voice. This is also one of the luxury hotels where I love to go around walking. At least, I have some images where I can see anytime, everytime I miss it. This is one of the snapshots I took when I was there.

The Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

Do you want to feel like in Venice, Italy when you go on vacation? You can visit the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas. It is a luxury hotel and casino resort situated between Harrah's and The Palazzo on the east side of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. This hotel features a life-like replica tower of St Mark's Campanile in Venice, Italy.

The Venetian was opened on May 3, 1999. It was one of the most expensive resort of its when it was opened. Here are some images I took during my visit last 2008. I wish to go back in Vegas in the future.

Mountains in Nevada

I am not sure if I call these mountains or hills in Nevada. These images were taken while we were driving to see the famous Hoover Dam in Nevada. I never imagine that Las Vegas is a desert but I guess it is one of the most improved desert in the world.

This is located near Hoover Dam Bypass, the new bridge that was just opened sometime in October 2010. These images were taken during our visit last May 2008.

Las Vegas Vacation

It is always nice and refreshing to remember every travel experience we had. This is especially true when we have some memories which reminds us of our trip. This might be in the form of photographs taken during our trip, travel souvenirs or simply remembering our experiences. One of the most memorable trip I had was when I went on vacation in Las Vegas. I also remember the exam tables my sister have in their house because she is reviewing for a certain exam that time. Thanks a lot dear sister and hubby for the plane ticket, accomodation and everything. I hope to see you again next time.

Here is an image taken in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I love this hotel. This is where I go galivanting most of the time. Shopping in Forum Shops is also exciting!

The Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada

This is the only lake in Las Vegas where you can witness a large dancing water fountain synchronized with music. This is the famous Fountains of Bellagio. It is one of the most notable features of Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The lake was inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy.

Never miss to watch it when you visit Las Vegas.
I had the chance to watch this spectacle for a lot of times during my vacation in Vegas last 2008. This is one of the images I took.
