Caesars Palace Las Vegas

These snapshots I took from Caesars Palace Las Vegas were not really good ones. I am just happy to share it that I was there once in my life. Caesars Palace is a luxury hotel and casino in Las Vegas Strip, Paradise, Nevada. If you feel like visiting Rome, you can experience it in this hotel. That is why a lot of tourists are talking, that if you want to feel like visiting a lot of places in this planet, go to Las Vegas! Yes, I did and I truly experienced it!

The entrance to the palace. You can also see one of the towers of this luxury hotel on the right side.

Caesars Palace has six towers namely, the Augustus, Centurion, Roman, Palace, Octavius, and Forum. It has a total of 3,960 rooms located in these towers.

The Iowa State Capitol

The Iowa State Capitol is the state capitol building of the U.S. state of Iowa. It was constructed between 1871 and 1886. It is located in the state capital of Des Moines at East 9th Street and Grand Avenue and houses the Iowa General Assembly.

Thanks to my friend Nonna for this image. She currently lives in Des Moines.

The present capitol is on the same grounds as the old, and is the only five-domed state capitol in the country. The building is brick with limestone from Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Ohio, and Illinois. Iowa stone is the foundation for the many porticoes of the building. Both front and back porticoes have pediments supported by six Corinthian columns each. The dome of the capitol is gilded with tissue-paper thin sheets of pure 23-karat gold, with a protective layer sealing the gold from the weather, and the top of its finial peak is 275 feet (84 m) above the ground. From its opening during 1884 until 1924 it was the tallest building in Des Moines, and probably the tallest in Iowa. credit

The Gresham's Castle in Galveston, Texas

The Bishop's Palace, also known as Gresham's Castle, is an ornate Victorian house located on Broadway and 14th Street in the East End Historic District of Galveston, Texas. The American Institute of Architects has listed the home as one of the 100 most significant buildings in the United States, and the Library of Congress has classified it as one of the fourteen most representative Victorian structures in the nation.

The house was built between 1887 and 1893 by Galveston architect Nicholas J. Clayton for lawyer and politician Walter Gresham. In 1923 the Roman Catholic Diocese of Galveston purchased the house, and, situated across the street from the Sacred Heart Church, it served as a bishop's residence. After the diocesan offices were moved to Houston, the diocese opened the mansion to the public in 1963, with proceeds from tours being used to help fund the Newman Center, operating in the basement, serving Catholic students at the nearby University of Texas Medical Branch. credit

The Stratosphere Tower Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Stratosphere is the tallest structure in Las Vegas and also the fifth tallest structure in the United States. Commonly called as Stratosphere Las Vegas, is a tower, hotel and casino located in Las Vegas Strip, Paradise, Nevada.

You can find a revolving restaurant on the top of the tower called "Top of the World". It has also the highest thrill ride in the world, the Big Shot as it is called.

I guess, its is quite scary working on top of this tower. What do you think guys?

I took this image during my 2008 vacation in the United States.

The Pegasus Statue in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas

I easily remember what this winged-horse called when I saw it in my picture files. This is the Pegasus statue that you see inside the Forum Shops in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas Strip, Nevada. Be careful when you visit Forum Shops, there might be some metal detectors use for security purposes when entering this shopping mall.

Someone told me before that once you enter especially any luxury hotels in Las Vegas, your eyes are already scanned and there are cameras in most parts of the hotels. I don't really care about those things looking at me (I mean the cameras) as long as I have fun and enjoy window shopping or gallivanting in those hotels I visited in Las Vegas.

This Pegasus statue is a work of art! I love it!

Eiffel Tower Replica in Las Vegas

This is the Eiffel Tower, a replica near Paris Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. It is 541-foot-tall (164.6 m) and said to be about half the size compared to the original one in Paris, France.

The Arch of Triumph in Paris Hotel, Las Vegas

The Arch of Triumph in Paris Hotel in Las Vegas is a replica of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France. It is about two third size compared to the original one in Paris, France. Paris and Ballys hotels are adjacent to each other that you can just cross from one hotel to the other. If you are planning to check in to this hotel, you don't need to go to an acai information but to the reception lobby where you can ask for all information about the hotel and all its facilities and pricing. I had been walking in Las Vegas strip for a lot of times and was able to experience its fun and never ending entertainment. That is only in Vegas and I hope to visit it again in the future!

Discover Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas

Have you been to Luxor in Egypt? Have you been to Luxor in Las Vegas? I believed I can answer these questions. First, I haven't been to Luxor in Egypt but I had already visited Luxor in Las Vegas. The Luxor Las Vegas is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It looks like a pyramid with a total of 4,407 rooms. Imagine how these rooms were built inside that huge pyramid hotel? I'll show it to you. This hotel was made after the city of Luxor or Ancient Thebes in Egypt. It was opened last Oct. 15, 2003. Three years later, that was the time I visited Las Vegas. Here are some pictures I took during my visit.

I was truly amazed by the architectural design of this hotel! It seems that I was also in real Luxor in Egypt the time I visited it.

Hoover Dam or Boulder Dam in Nevada and Arizona Borders

It's been two years now since I visited United States and stayed most of the time in Las Vegas, Nevada. I also had the chance to visit Hoover Dam or Boulder Dam as it is called by others. Here are some images and information I took from this amazing architecture during our visit last June 2008.

Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Arizona and Nevada. When completed in 1936, it was both the world's largest hydroelectric power generating station and the world's largest concrete structure. It was surpassed in both these respects by the Grand Coulee Dam in 1945. It is currently the world's 38th-largest hydroelectric generating station.

This dam, located 30 mi (48 km) southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, is named after Herbert Hoover, who played an instrumental role in its construction, first as the Secretary of Commerce, and then later, as the President of the United States. Construction began in 1931 and the dam was dedicated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on September 30, 1935 but it was not fully completed until 1936, which was still more than two years ahead of schedule. The dam and the power plant are operated by the Bureau of Reclamation of the U.S. Department of the Interior. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981, Hoover Dam was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1985.

Hoover Dam and its associated changes in water use had devastating impact on the Colorado River Delta at the mouth of the Colorado River. The construction of the dam has been credited as causing the decline of this estuarine ecosystem. For six years in the late 1930s, after the construction of the dam and while Lake Mead filled, virtually no flow of water reached the mouth of the river. The delta's estuary, which once had a freshwater-saltwater mixing zone stretching 65 kilometres (40 mi) south of the river's mouth, was turned into an inverse estuary where the level of salinity was actually higher closer to the river's mouth.

what an amazing architecture of Hoover Dam. This was taken during my vacation in the U.S. last 2008.

Environmental impact

The Colorado River had experienced natural flooding before the construction of the Hoover Dam. The dam eliminated the natural flooding, which imperiled many species adapted to the flooding, including both plants and animals.
The construction of the dam decimated the populations of native fish in the river downstream from the dam. Four species of fish native to the Colorado River, the Bonytail chub, Colorado pikeminnow, Humpback chub, and Razorback sucker, are currently listed as endangered by the U.S. federal government.

The Ceiling Inside Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

It seems that it took me for some hours to finish this post. I got some headache awhile ago and decided to take a break from online. I am finally back here. I just want to share more images of Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas. I am not quite sure where and what part is this inside the hotel. If I am not mistaken, that is Helena's monument here. I also found the ceiling very fantastic. That is one of the reasons why I always love to go sightseeing inside this hotel because I just see a lot of stuffs here. Amazing architecture!

I Saw Hoover Dam in Nevada

I already posted some pictures of Hoover Dam in Nevada sometime in this site. I am just sharing another photo that shows an evidence that I was in this great architecture. This dam is also known as the Boulder Dam and is located between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was completed in 1936 and during this time it was the both the world's largest electric-power generating station and the world's largest concrete structure. What an amazing work of engineering! here I am smiling happily as I saw this place.

The Famous Glass Ceiling in Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas

Have you seen the famous glass ceiling in Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas? If not here it is and here I am also! I just read in the net that it was made by Dale Chihuly, a famous artist with regards to glass works. This man is quite interesting. I would love to read more about him and his glass arts. Feel free to click the photo to make it a bit larger. I hope to make better pictures of this when I go back to Vegas hopefully next year...wink!

My First Night in Las Vegas

I remember the first night when I arrived in Las Vegas. The plane where I boarded landed at around 7pm at McCarran International Airport. When my sister and her hubby picked me up at the airport, I immediately told them that I need something to eat. It is obvious that I am very hungry after my long flight from Europe to the capital entertainment city of the world. That was my first step in the continent of North America. Definitely the tower in the picture you see above is not a cell tower. This is one of the first photos that I took while we were driving to Venetian Hotel to take a dinner. You can also see the Planet Hollywood Hotel in this picture. Oh! this city is just amazing!

The Trojan Horse in Forum Shop, Caesars Palace

Good day to everyone! Another weekend is here and I am happy and feeling better today compared the past days. I am sharing a photo which was taken inside Forum Shop in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. This is the biggest wooden horse I have even seen in my life. Do you know where the biggest one is, if ever? more updates in my other sites!

Hotel Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada

Let's go this time to one of Las Vegas's luxury hotel, the Hotel Bellagio. I use to watch the Dancing Water Show in this hotel everytime I go to Las Vegas Strip. It is always an amazing show. I hope to share more photos next time. Here is a little information of this hotel.

Bellagio is a luxury hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip in the Paradise area of unincorporated Clark County, Nevada, USA and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. It is owned by MGM Mirage and was built on the site of the demolished Dunes hotel and casino.

Inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy, Bellagio is famed for its elegance. One of its most notable features is an 8-acre (32,000 m2) lake between the building and the Strip, which houses the Fountains of Bellagio, a large dancing water fountain synchronized to music.

Inside Bellagio, Dale Chihuly's Fiori di Como, composed of over 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers, covers 2,000 sq ft (190 m2) of the lobby ceiling. Bellagio is home to Cirque du Soleil's aquatic production "O". source: wikipedia

if I am not mistaken this is located in the Conservatory of Hotel Bellagio where we watched their beautiful garden Show.
