That Memorable Trip In the Republic of Ireland

I am finally back here to give you a little update.  How I wish I can give you travel updates here everyday but due to limited time, I guess, I just can’t do it. I  am glad, I am back here now!

Let me share some travel stories I had last winter and I am talking about  my travel in the Republic of Ireland. I would say, “Ireland is one of the most beautiful states  I visited in Europe.  There is something in this place that makes me appreciate its beauty.”

The Cahergall Stone Fort. It is a massive stone fort, built around 600AD, which can be found close to Cahersiveen, County Kerry. The forts internal diameter is approximately 25 metres, the outer walls are 5 metres thick and rise to a height of 4 meters. Stairs are built into the inside face of the outer walls.

“Ireland also known as the Republic of Ireland, known in Irish as Poblacht na hÉireann, is a sovereign state in Europe occupying about five-sixths of the island of Ireland. The capital is Dublin, located in the eastern part of the island.”

Last January 2013, I received a travel flyer offering a week’s trip in the Republic of Ireland. I did not hesitated and decided to book it immediately. It cost around 600.00 Euros which I find much cheaper compared to the other travel agencies that are sending me travel offers. Included in this holiday package were the return flights from Munich to Dublin, accommodation (we stayed in mostly 3-star hotels), trips to different towns and cities, breakfast and dinner and tour guides.

A street sign while passing The  Burren. Known in Irish as Boireann, meaning “great rock”, is a karst-landscape region or alvar in northwest County Clare, in Ireland. It is one of the largest karst landscapes in Europe.

Even though I traveled alone during that trip, it was still not a problem for me. Besides, I met nice people during that group trip.  I also shared a bedroom but with separate beds with an elderly woman from Berlin. That was fine for me because she was also friendly to me.  She treated me as her daughter.  I admired here because despite her age of 82 years young, she still had the energy to travel around.  Indeed she has an amazing will to explore the world inspite of her age.

The beautiful landscape somewhere in the Ring of Kerry. It is probably the most visited attraction in Ireland outside of Dublin and Knock.

Among the places we visited that time were Dublin (Ireland’s capital city) Ring of Kerry, Connemara,  Cork, Kilkenny, Killarney, Tralle, Lisdoonvarna, Ennis, Limerick, the Cliffs of Moher and  some stop-overs to many places along the way.

I love Ireland and  I want to visit it again in the future. It was so far a very well-organized holiday I had. I also conclude that my trip in  this part of Europe was  truly a wonderful and memorable one.

I wish to share next time the travel experiences I had in each places we visited there.

Thanks for visiting my humble blog. Have a great one to all of us! Cheers and until then!
