Walking in Oakland, California

I heard some negative things about Oakland, a city in California.  Somebody told us that it is not really a safe city. Despite of what I heard, it still did not stop me from visiting this city.  What can you do with an adventurer like me? I am afraid of nothing when it comes to travel..lolz!  A traveller  who was once  stuck in the middle of war.

Anyway, it was actually a change of plan,  the main reason why we had a detour in Oakland City. We should be going to San Francisco that day but changed our plan and  went instead  to Oakland. From there, we should go to  Fremont to meet a  friend  who live in Milpitas but then the plan of proceeding to Fremont also changed. We went instead to Berkeley University.  From Oakland on our way to Fremont, we had a stopped for a lunch break in Union City. From there, our good friend who should drive us to Fremont received a call that her training in Fremont will no longer push through.    From Union City, we drove back to Oakland and from there,  we proceeded with the BART to Berkeley University. Am I quite confusing? But anyway, that’s how the story goes.

I had a short walk  with  my sister  around  the downtown area in  this city..  The weather was quite chilly because it was still early in the morning. We were there last middle of September  2012.

Portland is the busiest port  at the Bay. This port city is said to have the best weather in that area. The city gets its name because it is heavily populated with oak trees.According to the 2000 Census, Oakland is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the United States (along with Long Beach, California), with over 150 languages spoken.
