Happy Memorial Day To All American Friends!

I would like to greet all Americans from all over the world, a very happy and safe Memorial Day! I know some American friends who are having a four days or three days weekend today to spend with their family, friends or relatives. Enjoy your holiday! Below is an article about American Memorial day and why it is celebrated.

"When and Why is Memorial Day Celebrated by Americans

This holiday, on the fourth Monday of every May, is a day on which Americans honor the dead. Originally a day on which flags and flowers were placed on graves of soldiers who died in the American Civil War, it has become a day on which the dead of all wars and all other dead are remembered the same way.

In 1971, along with other holidays, President Richard Nixon declared Memorial Day a federal holiday on the last Monday in May. Cities all around the United States hold their own ceremonies on the last Monday in May to pay respect to the men and women who have died in wars or in the service of their country. In many communities, special ceremonies are held in cemeteries or at monuments for the war dead by veterans of military services. Some hold parades and others hold memorial services or special programs in churches, schools or other public meeting places. Memorial Day is not limited to honor only those Americans from the armed forces. It is also a day for personal remembrance. Families and individuals honor the memories of their loved ones who have died. Church services, visits to the cemetery, flowers on graves or even silent tribute mark the day with dignity and solemnity. On Memorial Day, the President or Vice President of the United States gives a speech and lays a wreath on the tombs. Members of the armed forces shoot a rifle salute in the air. Veterans and families come to lay their own wreaths and say prayers. It is a day of reflection. However, to many Americans the day also signals the beginning of summer with a three-day weekend to spend at the beach, in the mountains or at home relaxing. source: http://usa.usembassy.de/holidays-memorial.htm

Elton John's Red Piano Concert in Colosseum, Casears Palace in Las Vegas

It was a great opportunity and experience watching one of the greatest performer of all times. It was an amazing show, the Red Piano Concert of Elton John held in Colosseum in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I was honored to watch his show during my vacation in the US last year. The bad thing was that, no cameras are allowed inside the show. I have a picture here taken at the entrance of Colosseum. If cameras are allowed inside, I need to buy memory for my two cameras that time. I guess next time again! More updates tomorrow! have a great weekend to all!

How many times did I visit The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas? one two three four times? I guess more than that! Imagine visiting one of the largest hotels in the world with around 8,108 hotel rooms and suites! Of course that is the combined power of The Venetian, Sands Expo Convention Center and The Palazzo Hotel. It was an amazing experience! If there is a so-called Venice in Italy, Las Vegas also has its replica and this is the Venetian Hotel. They also have here the Gondola, the St. Mark's Square and the Venice canal where you can experience Gondola Ride...so I am just sharing this picture for now.

Having Fun at Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas

Before going inside and look what's going on at Flamingo Hotel, I strike a pose first. Thanks to Portia who took photos of me. You can see in my background the Flamingo Hotel located at Las Vegas Strip. I had fun at Flamingo because right in their entrance were dancers who entertain people from outside the hotel. I guess they were tempting the people to go inside and have fun playing games. you know what I mean guys! below is also a little info about Flamingo Hotel. courtesy of Wikipedia
strike a pose before I forgot it..special thanks to Portia, a friend I met in Vegas.

The Flamingo Las Vegas is a hotel located on the famed Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada and is owned and operated by Harrah's Entertainment. The property offers a 77,000 sq ft (7,200 m2) casino along with 3,626 hotel rooms. The hotel is sometimes referred to as the pink hotel due to the structure's neon pink color. The 15 acres (6.1 ha) site's architectural theme is reminiscent of the Art Deco and Streamline Moderne style of Miami and South Beach, with the central outdoor area housing an exhibit of flamingos as part of a wildlife habitat. It was the home of penguins, but they have since been moved to a Dallas zoo. It was the third resort to open on the strip. The Flamingo has a Las Vegas Monorail station at the rear of the property.
